I’m excited to announce that I am exhibiting several of my hand-painted Petri dishes (see below) in the Fine & Functional show at the Hammond Regional Art Center. The show opens tonight, Friday, December 2, at 5:00 PM and will run through December 23.
After a three year hiatus, the highly acclaimed Fine and Functional craft show returns to the Arts Center for the month of December.
I am honored to have my work included in this unique, handmade art experience, curated by local stained glass artist, Jerry Hymel. The items for sale include wonderful jewelry pieces by several artists, iron sculpture by John Perriloux, folk art by Pat Juneau, and wood sculpture by David Nagel. There will be pottery by nationally known artists Ken Follette and Flynn Sochon.
So here is your opportunity to purchase unique crafts to fill out your Christmas list. Join us as welcome the return of this HRAC tradition on Friday, Dec. 2 through the 21st.
The Hammond Regional Art Center is located at 217 E. Thomas Street in Hammond, Louisiana and is open from 12pm until 6pm Monday through Friday.
On Friday, November 18, I exhibited my work with the Hammond Art Guild at the Historic Columbia Theater in Hammond, LA as part of the annual Starry November Night Celebration. I exhibited a wide range of paintings including mixed media paintings using watercolor and crayon, and Pebeo Fantasy and acrylic paints. I also featured my series of “Dr. Marc’s” hand-painted petri dishes.
I showed two mixed media paintings, “Go Big or Go Home!” and “Blame it on the Media”, in the 2016 Amite Art Club Jurried Show which was held in Amite, LA October 7 through 9. I was thrilled to receive an honorable mention for “Blame it on the Media”. Both paintings have since been sold!
I’ll be showing my work with the Hammond Art Guild at the Hammond Regional Arts Center’s 2016 Brews Arts Festival next Friday, September 30 5-9pm in Downtown Hammond, LA. Come check us out and try some great beers!
